Description
The treatment focus remains on restoration of blood flow, relieving symptoms, and preventing limb loss. The primary management option is prevention of CLI development, like managing weight, cholesterol level, diabetes, and hypertension etc. Further, medication therapy includes antiplatelet agents, statins, and pain management, alongside meticulous wound care. Revascularisation intervention includes angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, or surgical bypass. The chosen treatment option depends on the severity of the disease. In the case of an advanced stage where revascularisation is not possible, adjunctive therapies and amputation might be recommended.
