Muscular dystrophy causes progressive weakness in muscles due to a deficiency of or dysfunctional proteins in muscle cells. The muscular dystrophy symptoms include difficulty in limb movement, gait instability, abnormal curvature of the spine, etc. As the disease progresses, the muscle weakness spreads to the lungs and heart muscles, resulting in their dysfunction. The disorder arises from genetic mutations. The conventional modalities slow the progression of the disorder but cannot rectify the mutations.
