Medical oncologists are doctors trained to treat cancer using systemic therapies (which are given by either oral or injection form), such as chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. They play a central role in coordinating cancer care, working closely with other specialists like surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists.
